Revelstoke Local Food Initiative – Food Commons Cleanup

The LFI and Indigenous Friendship Society (IFSR) is developing a 2.5 acre piece of land on Powerhouse road into a community farm that will be used to grow food, educate and increase food security for Revelstoke residents.

Registration for this project is now closed.

Two ways to explore the projects and register:

  1. Download the Re:BC App! This is the best way to explore this year’s projects and keep all your registration details in one place.

  2. For those not able to utilize the app, volunteers can sign up by selecting the project they want to participate in and filling out the form directly through the website.

Step 2: Registration

Registration for this project is now closed.

Step 3: Submit your Hotel Receipt

To confirm your registration, you must submit a screenshot or picture of your hotel reservation within 72 Hours.

If we do not receive this, your registration will be declined and your spot will be made available for other volunteers.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Please book your accommodation directly with your accommodator and avoid using sites such as expedia or booking.com. Booking direct helps support local businesses by eliminating large fees associated with online booking platforms which can sometimes be up to 30%.

  • Hotel dates must be for the same duration of your volunteer event and a minimum of 2 nights.

  • If you have any questions or concerns please contact us.

Hotel Reservation Submission Form

Please use this form to submit your hotel reservation within 72 hours of registration to confirm your spot!

Did you remember to book direct?

  • Booking direct helps support local businesses by eliminating large fees associated with online booking platforms which can sometimes be up to 30%!
  • After fees and taxes, sometimes only half of what you pay actually goes towards the business and stays locally within our community. Every dollar that goes to an online booking platform is money that isn’t used to hire staff, upgrade facilities, or invest in the guest experience.
  • Booking direct also ensures you’ll get the best rate and a better overall customer service experience,
as you deal directly with accommodators. If you see a better rate through an online booking platform,
we recommend giving the accommodation a call before you book, because often they will match it.

Available dates: 2024-09-19 to 2024-10-01 (allowed days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday)

You will be reimbursed up to a maximum of $400 once your volunteer shift has been completed.

Please upload a Screenshot or image (must be .jpeg format) of your Hotel Reservation.

Terms and Conditions

Additional Terms & Conditions:

  • Accommodation reservations must take place on the same dates as the service project you are registered for, but can extend longer than 2 nights.

  • Longer reservations will still only be eligible up to a maximum of $400 CAD.

  • Accommodations should be booked directly with accommodators and not through a third party platform such as expedia or booking.com.

  • Double occupancy reservations are only eligible for one reimbursement.

  • Because this is an incentive to encourage travel to Revelstoke, the reimbursement is not available to people with a Revelstoke permanent address.

  • If full and correct payment information is not provided by the deadline, you will not be eligible for reimbursement.
