Thanksgiving back is an opportunity to see Revelstoke from a new perspective and have a positive impact while your travel. Immerse yourself in our local culture and work alongside residents to lend a helping hand to our local non-profit organizations by volunteering for a registered project.
As a thank-you, you can get the costs of your accommodation during the event dates reimbursed up to a value of $400 when you book two or more nights!
To be eligible for the reimbursement, visitors must:
- Have a permanent address outside of Revelstoke
- Register for and complete work on a Registered Volunteer Project
- Book a stay of 2 nights or more directly with an accommodator. Explore options usingĀ Tourism Revelstoke’s search engine.
- Complete a post-visit survey to help us understand the project’s impacts on our community.
LUNA Fest

LUNA Fest is a 3-day festival of Art and Wonder, transforming the streets of downtown Revelstoke into a reimagined space full of interactive art installations and performers. Friday night is LUNA Sound consisting of 11 bands across 4 stages, Saturday is a celebration of nocturnal art and wonder, and Sunday is our family-friendly day-time event.

Revelstoke Local Food Initiative – Food Commons Cleanup

The LFI and Indigenous Friendship Society (IFSR) is developing a 2.5 acre piece of land on Powerhouse road into a community farm that will be used to grow food, educate and increase food security for Revelstoke residents.

Revelstoke Snowmobile Club – Thanksgiving Back 2024

This is a unique opportunity to visit our warming shelters in the summer. Every Fall it takes volunteers to stock our emergency shelters with wood for the winter. We have a full day of bucking, transporting and stacking wood for the winter.

Revelstoke Reach Invasives
10 Stops | 6 Days Revelstoke
Volunteers will be asked to assist with mechanical control (digging, snipping, bagging) of invasive plants in the Revelstoke Reach ‘Greenbelt’ site close to the Kovach Skate Park. Volunteers will be assisting in long-term restoration efforts. Refreshments and prizes will be provided.

Friends of the Forestry Museum – Fall Grounds Clean-Up

For the love of forests! Volunteers will get to experience the museum grounds while helping the Society close for the winter with landscaping needs, equipment maintenance/preparation, other maintenance needs, as well as trail clean-up at the Riverside Forest Walk.

Soil Searching Dig Day

Volunteers will take part in a maintenance event on one of the Revelstoke Cycling Association’s mountain bike trails. They will be led by experienced trail builders. Afterwards, they’ll go for a short bike ride to enjoy their work. Thanks to sponsors Specialized who have provided prizes for participants.

Revelstoke Railway Museum – Luna Rail

Luna Rail is an annual celebration in coordination with Luna: Nocturnal Art and Wonder. Luna Rail is a barrier-free event that is family-friendly and held on the Sunday after Luna. Admission is by donation to ensure all families can attend. Our volunteers are the main reason we can keep this event accessible to all incomes.
