Traditionally, glass blowing is not a very eco friendly medium, requiring fuel in order to maintain heat. Knowing this, Big Eddy Glass Works outfitted their shop with electric powered furnaces and annealers to reduce the amount of propane being used in production. They also started multiple programs to bring life to their non-recyclable glass waste.

Big Eddy Glass Works is pioneering environmentally friendly practices for the glass-blowing process including using alternative power sources and diverting waste. 

La Baguette endeavors to limit food waste and repurpose food. From homemade croutons made of unsold bread to soup and jams made with repurpose veggies and fruits from their sister grocery business, Le Marche. They prioritize local suppliers and organic products when they can.

First Light Farm operates a small-scale Certified Organic Vegetable Farm in City Limits of Revelstoke. With just 1.5 acres in production they pack a lot into a little space and are constantly trying to maximize and build soil health for the long term in order to continue supporting a diverse & intensive market garden. They grow a diversity of crops and follow a crop rotation to balance our land use and intensive growing areas across the property.
